Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is an awfully gifted and largely self-taught culinary novice. When he and his household are displaced from their native India and settle in a quaint French village, they determine to open an Indian eatery. Nevertheless, Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the proprietress of an acclaimed restaurant simply 100 ft away, strongly objects. Battle erupts between the 2 institutions, till Mallory acknowledges Kadam’s spectacular epicurean presents and takes him below her wing.
